SUCCESS STORY

Helping Lismore switch from metal-based to paper-based tubes, enhancing the brand’s sustainability credentials

The challenge
Under the Lismore brand, William Lundie & Co Ltd offers a range of Single Malt Scotch Whiskies, expertly aged in premium oak barrels in Speyside, Scotland. Aligned with their sustainability goals, they sought to transition to a 100% recyclable paper-based tube, making it easier for consumers to recycle.

The approach
As a valued customer using our metal-based cardboard tubes, our technical team worked to ensure a smooth transition to the new paper-based tubes without disrupting the supply chain. To maintain compatibility, we adjusted the height of the cardboard tube so it would still fit seamlessly within their existing shipping cases.

The Results
The new paper-based cardboard tube contains no mixed materials, allowing consumers to recycle it easily as a single unit through kerbside recycling. The smooth shift from metal-based to paper-based tubes has helped contribute towards William Lundie & Co Ltd meeting their sustainability goals by significantly reducing CO2 emissions.
