Smurfit Westrock and Ranobo have built a longstanding partnership through years of collaboration. We are proud to supply packaging solutions to their local family business, helping them transport dried fruit and nut products. After the packaging serves its primary purpose, Smurfit Westrock Recycling steps in to collect the paper and cardboard, returning it to the production process. What makes this partnership unique is that Ranobo’s used packaging returns to us at Smurfit Westrock, where it is repurposed and given a second life—creating a truly circular solution.

A key moment in our partnership with Ranobo came in 2024 when Smurfit Westrock Recycling installed a press system at Ranobo, ensuring that all their used cardboard is collected and processed more efficiently. Before this, Ranobo relied on an open container for recycling cardboard without dismantling it, which limited storage space and reduced efficiency. The new press system enables Ranobo to compress all their cardboard, allowing for the recycling of larger amounts at a time. This upgrade not only reduces transportation costs but also lowers the environmental impact, all whilst maintaining the quality of the recycled packaging material. The result is a clear win-win: fewer transport journeys, less CO₂ emissions, and a smarter use of raw materials
