By switching to paper-based punnets, Hoogstraten eliminated 700,000kg of plastic packaging per year

Coöperatie Hoogstraten faced a push to reduce the amount of plastic in their packaging from both retailers and consumers. Tied together with high labour costs associated with manually filling produce trays with small fruit bowls and the demanding supply chain conditions, Coöperatie Hoogstraten knew there was a more efficient and sustainable solution out there.

The new packaging solution increases brand awareness of Hoogstraten and reduces logistic and labour costs. The new punnet is also fully recyclable and has very high recycling rates compared to the previous plastic solution. Furthermore, the sustainable solution reduces the carbon footprint of Hoogstraten.
