Ensuring sustainably caught fish are delivered in sustainably designed packaging

The Challenge

Alaskan Fisherman sustainably catch wild Alaskan fish, and then ship them in bulk to the Czech Republic. After arrival in the Czech Republic, our challenge was to develop a sustainable eCommerce pack, to replace its existing EPS packaging, and to ensure the fish remained frozen all the way to its customers' doorstep.

The Approach

Our team of experts developed a fully paper-based pack comprising of a corrugated cardboard box with six hexacomb inserts to insulate the fish from all sides. It was also designed to be easy to open/close by the consumer and can be easily recycled after use in the regular kerbside cardboard recycling system.

The Result
Not only is the new insulated pack recyclable and made from renewable resources, but it also reduces CO₂ emissions by 48%. The printed pack now serves as an extension of the brand, creating a positive experience that customers will look forward to receiving again and again
