Smurfit Westrock showcased the future of sustainable packaging at Scotland’s Trade Fair Spring and Speciality Food and Drink Show
Our Smurfit Westrock packaging experts dived headfirst into all things food, drink and sustainability at Scotland’s Trade Fair Spring and Speciality Food and Drink Show.
Running from 19th to 21st of January at Glasgow’s SEC, Scotland’s Trade Fair Spring and Speciality Food and Drink Show returned for another year and, as expected, was a fantastic event. It was the perfect opportunity for our team to connect with industry experts and discuss the future of sustainability in food and drink packaging.
Over the exciting three-day event, the knowledgeable Smurfit Westrock team shared packaging insights and inspiration, showing businesses how sustainable packaging can boost sales, increase customer loyalty and appeal to the growing number of eco-conscious consumers.
Our team showcased a host of innovative and sustainable packaging solutions, giving brands a look into what’s possible with high-quality packaging. This included EPS replacement, TopClip - a unique, sustainable cardboard can topper - and Shelf Stacker, all designed to support businesses in reducing their environmental impact.
A highlight of the event was seeing Hamed Ahmed, Sales Director of our Smurfit Westrock Tannochside site share his expertise during panel discussions, encouraging conversation about the role of sustainable packaging in the food and drinks market.
The team had a brilliant time at the event, especially when it came to engaging with brands and sharing insights into their packaging needs. Hamed reflects: “Our three days at the event were filled with productive discussions with a wide range of businesses from across Scotland, all focused on their sustainability journeys. It’s an exciting time to be in the paper packaging industry, with numerous opportunities to make a tangible impact through our sustainable packaging solutions, ultimately helping our customers reduce their packaging waste”.
