We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Structural Engineer to join our team at Saxon Packaging in Lowestoft. A team player with initiative, design flair and who thrives in a fast moving environment would fit the team very well.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Independently create and develop corrugated packaging solutions meeting the needs of the clients brief and produce samples for approval.
- Produce CAD drawings from previously manufactured samples.
- Generate documentation for Estimating, Sales and operations.
- Identify changes to existing packaging to aid packing and or production efficiencies.
- Take direct ownership of tasks by liaising with clients and colleagues to gain information and keep them informed of progress.
- Ensure systems and databases are kept up to date.
- Generate tracings for use in manufacturing.
- Produce CAD drawings for the use in setting of artwork.
- Liaising with clients regarding artwork requirements (not generating artwork / graphics) and processing proofs through to approval via our third-party studios.
- Any other reasonable requests.
Essential Skills & Experience
To be considered for the role you will need structural design experience ideally in the corrugated packaging sector.
- Computer literate with knowledge of packaging based CAD software Illustrator and Microsoft Office applications
- Self-motivated with an eye for problem solving, and attention to detail.
- The ability to follow a design brief and adapt as necessary
- Able to thrive in a fast paced fluid environment and work to deadlines.
Great communication skills - Quick to learn and develop and keen to understand our manufacturing processes.
- Able to build a rapport with key personnel, customers and shop floor personnel
