Paper-based packaging is one of the most sustainable materials available. Our packaging is made from a renewable material and designed to be recyclable and if littered biodegrades naturally without leaving a trace.

Options are available for Smurfit Kappa to provide fully recycled material. In addition, for our Kraft materials, the virgin fibres comes from sustainable managed planted forests which are chain of custody certified by FSC® and/or PEFC™.
At our accredited ISTA testing lab’s, we can design new or utilise existing ISTA test methodologies to determine whether the package and product can withstand transit hazards. This facility can carry out compression, vibration, shock, temperature and impact-related testing.

In addition, we can offer Frustration Free Packaging (FFP), Ships-in-Own-Container (SIOC) or Prep-Free Packaging (PFP) testing to ensure the reduction of damages. Smurfit Kappa EU is also an official participant in the Amazon Packaging Support and Supplier Network (APASS)
